The Cerdivil wasn't working. The doctor checked her Friday morning and she was only 1.5 cm dilated. They gave her more Cerdivil; meanwhile I'm rushing at work to finish everything so I can sprint to the hospital if she actually starts having the baby. I was finished at work and getting restless, so I left and met my dad at the museum. We checked our phones often and were updated that she wasn't progressing, so they were going to try a balloon. After being in the hospital for nearly 17ish hours and no progression on Cerdivil they let Jayme eat and shower. I left the hospital around 8 p.m. because they weren't starting the balloon until we didn't know when. The doctors would say they'd be back in an hour and would come back several hours later. It was no good.
I was awake every two hours on Friday night thinking everyone's phones died and they couldn't reach me. I woke up at 6 a.m. on Saturday I was so anxious. Ryan and I tried calling everyone, but nobody would answer! So, we got ready and went to the hospital. They told us they had done the balloon at about 5:30 a.m. and had given her an epidural, so she couldn't feel it. We legit waited all day and her progression was painfully slow. She would dilate one cm every 3 or 4 hours. We were all complaining and so anxious for Bruce. Ryan left the hospital around 8 p.m. because he had to lead worship at church that Sunday. We all scattered trying to get some sleep. I was in the lobby with Jayme's brother when my brother came in around 12:30 and told us she was 8 cm! Whoo hoo. So, we all went back to sleep, lol, because she was progressing so slowly we figured we had time. About 1:15 a.m. my mom came and woke me up saying they'd gone to get the doctor.
I use the restroom, put my hair up, taking my time, and I was going to get coffee, which was down the l/d hallway near Jayme's room. I was going to wake up and wait for this baby! Well, I walk down the hallway and Jayme's door is open halfway and her brother is standing outside it pressed up against it; she was delivering!! I thought I had time. My dad was still asleep in the car, her parents were on the 6th floor sleeping and she's having the baby. We've waited three days at the hospital and we still weren't ready! None of us meant to be near her room when she was delivering. We were all going to wait in the lobby, but it was chaos. Her mom showed up and just walked into the room, my mom was in the room, there were like 8 nurses hanging out in there and the door was open. So, I saw Bruce very quickly after he was delivered.
Let me back up a little. Before Jayme's parents showed up, my brother comes walking out of the room, yea he left his lady in labor. He walked around a little and was breathing real deeply. He said a couple times "I'm going to pass out", I thought he was kidding. He turned to walk back to the room, spun in a circle and collapsed. He hit his head on the wall and was out. It scared the crap out of me! He came to very fast, though. The nurse gave him some graham crackers and juice and told him not to come back in until he was done. He hadn't slept in nearly three days and he was so anxious he could hardly eat, so I don't blame him for passing out, but I will hold it against forever since it was in front of me.
Then there was Bruce!
