Church-going

Ryan's work schedule recently changed. He's still working nights, but he now works 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This means that he only works eight hours with a 30 minute break, and no over time. However, last week they permitted over time hours, so he's been leaving a bit earlier again. In addition to the new, yet old, schedule (they changed practically every other person's schedule in the warehouse except Ryan's) Ryan decided to work Monday night through Friday night, instead of Sunday night through Thursday night. Whew. All of this to say, we can restart our search for a church. Yay.

We visited a church last Sunday close to us in West University. It wasn't a complete miss, but not quite a hit either. The pastor seemed learned in the word and presented his sermon well, but the congregation was still and quiet; they felt dead. It was odd and a little difficult to explain. I'm not used to people jumping in the aisles, but a responsive congregation. Not shouting hallelujahs, but a few amens in agreeance or a praise the Lord. Everyone was too quiet, almost disinterested. We'll visit the last two churches on our list and we may end up back at West U or some other place.

Praise God for our continued search.
