I'm documenting this for reference. The first seizure Coco had is documented here, so I thought I'd keep it all in one handy place.

Coco Bear Grylls

Yes, that is unofficially his middle name. He went to the doctor on Saturday and she wanted to see him again today to do blood work to rule out any internal issues. She was concerned that the seizures are so close together and so frequently. The blood work ruled out any organ problems and he seems perfectly healthy. So, she decided the medication was our best option. They didn't have any medication in so small a dosage, so I have to pick up the stuff tomorrow. I'm nervous to give it to him, but I'm confident in the doctor's decision. He also had to get some vaccinations, poor thing. They gave him valium while he was at the doctor today, we had to drop him off, so he's still groggy.

All of this was done today:
He's on drugs

I love that Coco Bear Grylls!

Hum drum

Not much happening here.
We finally bought a new bedspread. The old one pretty much died. It lived a good long life (sort of) and we had to make a change. We got this duvet set from Target.
The actual pattern. It's grey, but has bluish tint. I really need to add some color, but it's fine for now.

I applied for a masters program on Friday and we got dinner at my new favorite vietnamese restaurant to celebrate. Delicious! Of course when I am actually admitted to the program, then we'll really celebrate, but I'm still confident.

Ryan's still working nights.
We replaced the tires on both of our cars (yikes).
Hoping for a sizable tax return :)
Coco has a doctor's appointment on Saturday.
Considering getting a puppy in April!

I got this super cute valentine mug from one of the families in my class. I saw it at Target and wanted it; I was stoked when they gave it to us. It also came with a giftcard to Starbucks.
The are so sweet!
It was a lovely Monday, surprisingly.

Valentine's Day 2012

It all started when I saw this two weeks ago!
I told Ryan if he wanted me to wait until Valentine's day he was going to have to hide my presents. He refused and we opened gifts early. I am very impatient.
It was:

A crystal box and a key necklace from Tiffany & Co. Love it.
I got him a Bazinga shirt (The Big Bang Theory) and tickets to Star Wars in 3-D.

The real day went: It was Tuesday (lame), I came home and Ryan went to work. Like all other days, but he bought me flowers and a little stuffed monkey (he gets me an animal every year, it's his thing) and I made cheeseburgers, sweet potato fries, and strawberry milkshakes.

We shared one milkshake (thanks to Jessica k.). I didn't even notice that rogue rose on the right in reality. Funny. Pretty low key day, but we still have to go see Star Wars.

I say Doctor...

We've watched so much bones. Sorry if you don't get it...

I have chosen a new veterinary clinic for Coco. It's called Southside Place.

I've heard good things and it seems great. I'm making Coco an appointment for the seizure medication, but I will keep you up-to-date on what the new vet says. The old vet told us the seizures wouldn't hurt Coco, but it's hard to believe that, and he also told us that if they were too frequent for our liking we could put him on medication if we chose. I didn't like his attitude about the subject and believe this new clinic will be more encouraging and sympathetic. It's not as light a subject as the old doctor led on. It scares the crap out of me and I pretty much hate it (as if everyone didn't know that already). I'm nervous about the appointment, because Coco will be scared and more than likely the stress will trigger an episode and I just read some information on seizure medication and it was a bit overwhelming.

I also chose a new doctor for myself. LOVE her. I had a check up and she was fantastic. She is so nice and cute and pregnant (much like every other woman in the office except me!!). She took the time to sit down with me in her office to discuss my most recent medical history, which is extensive, and she was fast. The place is great. Here's hoping I like Coco's new doctor just as much. As I read this it sounds crazy, but I love my Coco.

The place a little spruced for February. I decided it was ok to celebrate all month :)

Pretty pink hydrangeas; the lighting sucks

Love blocks picked up from the dollar section of Target
stacked on two maroon books

Felt XOXO banner I got in college and
two lovebirds

This picture comes with a disclaimer:
Cute in theory, bad in execution. See it's been really humid here in Houston
not to mention very rainy the last week or so. Notice the spots where
the hearts have fallen off, top right, and the bottom where they look
like they're melting. So many have fallen off from the humidity. They
either melt or turn sticky and slide off the ring. Even the ribbon is soaking up
melted sugar. Gross.

Bleary eyes

So, I've been using my fancy IPod Ryan bought me for Christmas to wake me up in the mornings, because; 1. My phone has been giving me trouble and 2. It makes prettier sounds. I have my normal work schedule alarms set, but this week Thursday and Friday we don't have school. Instead we're hosting this big early childhood conference where I work, ECMC. Therefore, I don't have to wake up until six. Sweet!

So, my alarm goes off this morning, sweet chiming bells. I groan and turn it off, naturally. I don't check the time, but lay in bed for about seven minutes then drag myself out to the kitchen. I make a bowl of cereal and eat it with my orange juice. I then make coffee. As I was opening my new can of coffee, and tearing off that fancy aroma seal, I glanced at the clock wondering what time it was. The clock said 5:37. B'escuse me (I say this as a contraction between the words "but" and "excuse" me. My own concoction). My alarm wasn't supposed to go off until six...

I stand there in the kitchen, coffee container open, spilled coffee grounds on the counter, because it's 5:37 instead of 6:10. I finally put the pieces together and remember, I set a new alarm, but didn't turn the usual ones off. HA. Bummer. No wonder my eyes weren't focusing when I woke up. So, I went back to the dark bedroom and snuggled up with the dog to sleep for twenty more minutes.

Funny story.
